“The 2010 Mouton Rothschild is a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Merlot. It exhibits an opaque purple color and offers up stunning aromas of crème de cassis, lead pencil shavings, espresso roast and subtle background oak. Full-bodied and massively concentrated, with extraordinary purity and focus, this quintessential Pauillac is built along the lines of the 1986 Mouton, but with more elegance and finesse. The tannins are abundant but sweet, and the finish goes on for over a minute. This is a monumental wine that will require significant cellaring and should evolve for 50+ years.”
